I keep going back and forth about what exactly I am trying to accomplish with photography while out here in Okinawa. I love taking pictures. Love it. But with every photoshoot I am reminded just how much I am still learning. I’m having so much fun, but as I have blogged about before, I am certainly no Fairy Dust or Meredith Novario or Kristi James… and I am always quick (maybe too quick) to tell people that.
However in the last week, I’ve been approached by two different people asking to see my portfolio- so I decided that although I might still be figuring my photography objectives out… it couldn’t hurt to start putting a portfolio together… you know… for fun and stuff.
So I spent the week going through all of the shoots I have done this summer and put my favorites into one giant folder. Then I made both my friend Brette and my husband go through the whole lot and rate them.
Since beginning this “Photo Friday” thing, I’ve only ever featured entire shoots, but today I thought I’d post a bunch of the shots from this summer that haven’t made it into their own posts, but were some of our favorites all the same.
In 2013, I quit my job and bought a one-way ticket to Thailand. After four months of backpacking I returned to the States and fell in love with a guy whose job sent us straight back to Asia. Nothing has gone according to plan... and it's been absolutely magical.
