No one throws a party quite like my #bfforsomething. Jenna contacted me a few weeks ago about photographing a bridal tea party she was throwing for one of her very best friends Chelsea, who is getting married this spring. I jumped at the opportunity knowing that everything would be picture perfect and my job would be easy!
When we were in high school, Jenna’s house was the go-to spot for everything. We took pictures there before proms and homecomings. We had potlucks and gift exchanges there as soon as school let out for Christmas break. We watched fireworks every Fourth of July together from her dock. Summer was synonymous with boat trips to the islands and coming home to feasts of Florida lobster.
I can’t count the nights she and I spent camped out in the office watching Dirty Dancing, imagining being “grown ups” and falling in love. Now that we are grown up, and (some of us) are in love, Jenna’s house has become the go-to spot for bridal luncheons, wedding receptions and baby showers. And as for summer… it’s still synonymous with meeting at her dock to head to the islands.
Inspired by our British (by marriage) Bride-To-Be, Chelsea, Jenna and Michele pulled out all the stops to make sure that this high-tea was perfect, and they really did think of everything! I loved getting to photograph all of the cute little details!
Our beautiful bride and her beautiful family.
Nothing beats photographing so many friends who have loved one another for so long. Chelsea’s sisters and all of her best friends (most of whom she has known since early childhood) gathered to shower her with love and gifts all afternoon. I’m so glad I got to play a part in such a special day for such a special friend! Congratulations, Chels!
In 2013, I quit my job and bought a one-way ticket to Thailand. After four months of backpacking I returned to the States and fell in love with a guy whose job sent us straight back to Asia. Nothing has gone according to plan... and it's been absolutely magical.
